Sally Walker
A fundraising consultant and trainer with 27 years of experience in fundraising and public relations, Sally Walker specializes in endowment campaigns and capital campaigns. She has created successes for cultural and human service organizations, religious and environmental causes, schools, hospitals, clinics, and colleges.
She works closely with non-profit leaders to develop programs and marketing materials that effectively promote fundraising. As a planned giving specialist, she works with nonprofits, donors, and their advisors to create gift arrangements that meet the donor’s financial, estate planning and philanthropic objectives.
A frequent speaker at conferences, workshops and fundraising seminars – Sally has trained nonprofit executives, financial advisors, donors and volunteers. As faculty for the National Academy of Voluntarism, Sally trained United Ways across the country in planned giving and endowment development.
Sally is a past president of the Santa Barbara Planned Giving Roundtable and served on the founding committee and national board of the National Committee for Planned Giving. She is a member of the national board of gift-planning consultants for The Planned Giving Mentor. Her articles have appeared in The Endowment Builder and Stelter Copmany publications.
Sally’s career as a fundraising professional includes serving as Endowment Director for United Way of Santa Barbara County, where she created an award-winning program, raising $11 million in planned gifts. Previously, as Development Director for Direct Relief -- an international medical relief agency – she developed a comprehensive fundraising program including major and planned gifts, foundation and corporate support, direct mail, and public relations. She is past president of the Santa Barbara Audubon Society and is listed in Who’s Who of America.
